Maria Sansigre is an industrial engineer with experience in technology including wind onshore, district heating and cooling networks, biomass , energy efficiency, data center projects and a particular expertise in Green IT. She is specialized in energy technologies from Escuela Politécnica Superior Universidad Carlos III of Madrid and holds a specialization in venture capital from IEB (Instituto de Estudios Bursatiles). Maria possesses both engineering and investment talents. Currently, she is Investment Director at Demeter Partners. Her investment experience also includes assessing start-ups and companies across Europe and Israel for public subsidies and have held a position as an external investment expert on the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 R&D program. Before joining Demeter Partners, Maria has worked 11 years as engineer and consultant in the energy and IT sectors, in companies and technology centers such as Iberdrola, IBM and IREC (Catalonia Institute for Energy Research), among others. Miguel Sanchez is CEO of Green Momit, developing and manufacturing products that focus on energy efficiency R&D Spanish, international strategy planning .had his beginnings as Head of the Professional Division in K-Tuin, the main APR in Spain. After 5 years in the company, he went to work in Techex where he was Business Development Manager in the Engineering Division. Following the line in technology and telecommunications, he was Head of Business Development and International Project Manager at Siemens, a multinational where he fulfilled several positions while being there for 8 years. He became Senior Account Manager, position he was in for three years before embarking on his adventure with momit.
Peter Sweatman is the Chief Executive of Climate Strategy & Partners a strategic consultant in Clean Energy, Clean Technology, Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Strategies, counting among its clients some of Iberia’s largest firms and among its partners Bloomberg New Energy Finance and Trucost. Peter is also Chairman of Energy Efficiency Capital Advisors (www.eecapadvisors.com) an expert solution provider to firms looking to save energy. For 5 years directly prior to this, Peter was Managing Director responsible for Iberia and Latin America for Bunge-Climate Change Capital that was one of the world’s leading specialist fund manager and advisors in the low carbon economy.
Sandra Rey is the Founder and CEO of Glowee, whose mission is to create a source of living light that works without using electrical energy and emits little light pollution and CO2. A light that comes straight from nature, at the crossroads between biomimetic and synthetic biology, ready to revolutionize the way we produce and consume. Prior to founding Glowee, Sandra worked as a designer at FING, Peclers Paris and Senrorit. She holds a degree of Product Design from the UAM, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana de Mexico.
Benjamin has been an early-stage Venture Capitalist in the fields of new energies and environment for almost 10 years. He currently sits on the board of 10 start-up companies in various sectors such as Ideol (floating wind platforms), I-TEN (all-state-solide micro-batteries), Zenpark (shared parking app), Avenisense (industrial sensors) or Stimergy (GreenIT). Benjamin has been working at Demeter Partners since early 2012 where is now leads the Innovation team covering France and Spain. Prior to joining Demeter, Benjamin was responsible for Energy & Environment investments at CEA Investissement after having started his VC’s career as an investment manager at Innoven Partenaires. Benjamin graduated from Ecole Polytechnique (France), Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural des Eaux et des Forêts (environmental engineering school) and earned a post-graduate degree (DEA) in Bio-computing, Structural and Genomic Biology followed by several scientific research projects.
Patrik is the CEO of CorPower Ocean, a Swedish wave energy developer bringing a threefold improvement on the efficiency of harvesting wave energy. Patrik is a passionate entrepreneur with experience of building VC-funded technology start-ups from first idea to multi-national operations. He has led product development teams to deliver complex machinery outperforming prior state-of-the art solutions, and to get them piloted by key customers. Patrik has an MSc in chemical engineering from Lund Institute of Technology and UC Berkeley, California.
Diego Pavía graduated as electrical engineer, specialising in electronics and automation from the Polytechnical University of Madrid. His first professional experience, in 1988, was as co-founder and CEO of a start-up, Knowledge Engineering, dealing with industrial controls systems using artificial intelligence and neural networks. Three years later he joined Sema Group, and started a long career with private companies. In SchlumbergerSema, Diego headed multicultural working groups all over the world in the field of energy, with revenues of 650M$. Between 2002 and 2010, Diego was the CEO of Atos Origin, a leading international IT service provider, where he was responsible for Spain and South America, about 9.000 employees, and an annual turnover of EUR 450 million. Since 2010, Diego has been CEO of KIC InnoEnergy. Diego, as a serial entrepreneur, has created 7 companies in his lifetime.
Carlos works as an executive in the renewable energy sector. He has an international focus and manages projects and activities in Europe, the US, Latin, Northern Africa and the Middle East. He has got 30 years in consulting and engineering, mostly dealing with renewable energy environmental issues. He is the Director of Solar and Biomass Business at TYPSA, a set of independent firms in the fields of civil engineering, architecture and the environment.
José is Energy Advisor at Singularity University (SU) in NASA Ames Research Park, Silicon Valley, California, USA and also chair of the Venezuelan Node of the Millennium Project, Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies (IDE – JETRO) in Tokyo, Japan, and Founding Faculty. He is a lifetime member of the Sigma Xi (ΣΞ, Scientific Research) and Tau Beta Pi (ТΒΠ, Engineering) Honor Societies in North America, is also a honorary member of the Venezuelan Engineers College (CIV), and his name has been included in the Marquis Edition of Who’s Who in the World. For several years, he served as an advisor for many of the major oil companies in the world, including Agip, BP, ChevronTexaco, ExxonMobil, PDVSA, Pemex,Petrobras, Repsol, Shell and Total. Later, in Paris, he initiated his relation with the international consulting company Booz-Allen & Hamilton, where he specialized in the areas of strategy, finance and restructuring.
Eric Giler is currently Chairman and CEO of Speedy Packets in Cambridge, Massachuetts. Speedy Packets dramatically improves the efficiency and performance of TCP, the primary protocol for moving content around the Internet – while maintaining end-to-end reliability and fair access. He was previously CEO of WiTricity Corporation which was founded in 2007 to commercialize a new technology for wireless electricity invented and patented two years earlier by a team of physicists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Previously, he was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Groove Mobile. Eric was the founder and served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Brooktrout Inc., a provider of telecom software and hardware platforms, from 1984 until its acquisition by EAS Group, Inc. in October 2005.He is the author of over 20 patents. Eric holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School
Olivier Jacques is the Managing Director EMEA and Senior Vice President at APsystems Solar. He brings more than twenty years of experience in construction, industrial and high-tech industries. Prior to joining APsystems Solar, he served as Managing Director EMEA for Enphase Energy and developed the microinverter market in Europe from scratch, achieving leading share positions in key European solar regions. He previously served in Executive position for international companies including Norgren (IMI group), Danfoss, Schlumber, Watts Industries and Samsung. Olivier earned his HVAC-R engineering degree and holds three Master Certificates and a DMSE (MBA equivalent) from ESCP Europe, one of the World's top business schools. He is also certified IMX (HR profiling and analysis).
Raúl Aragonés is the CEO of AEinnova, a company incorporated in late 2014 aimed at research, innovation and development of new alternative energy related to products. Raúl is a Doctor of Computer Science and Professor of Microelectronics and Electronic Systems. He has participated in several national projects, published more than twenty papers in scientific journals and conferences. Raúl is also an expert in interfaces with wireless sensor networks, processing and transformation of energy and the design of integrated circuits (ASICs).
Lluc Martí is the Founder and CEO of Exploded View, a young tech startup and a South Summit 2015 Startup Competition winner (Industrial Revolution 2.0) thanks to their project Plactherm, a highly efficient & intelligent underfloor heating system. Lluc is a multifaceted engineer with two MSC (Project Management and Motorsport) and created a previous startup and was COO in another one.

Mónica Espinosa is the Head of Innovation and Business Development of Endesa Energia. Endesa is the leading company in the Spanish electricity sector and the second operator in the Portuguese electricity market. Endesa looks to the future, seeking intelligent solutions, to develop realistic proposals that address present and future energy challenges.Endesa provides services to 11,2 million customers and that directly employs more than 10,000 people. Prior to her actual position in Endesa, she worked as Strategy and Commercial Development Director during 14 years, from 2001 to 2015. Prior to this, Mónica worked as an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company during 7 years.
The graphene is the so-called material of the future due to its extraordinary physical properties. However, graphene is still in the laboratories and some technical barriers need to be cleared to let this material get into the market through the applications where will provoke a remarkable revolution. Gnanomat is a start-up company in the area of nanotechnology that has solved some of the most challenging technical barriers mentioned: we optimized a procedure to scale-up of not just graphene, but most interestingly graphene derivatives products of high impact. Renewable Energy and Processes S.L. (REP-Energy Solutions) is a company created as “spin off” from a research group of the faculty of Chemistry at Universidad Complutense of Madrid. We have been awarded by Repsol Entrepreneurs Fund twice, as “innovation idea” and “business project”. Nowadays, we are being supported by Repsol to develop new molten as storage medium for concentrating solar power (CSP) plants in order to get these technologies more efficient, profitable and increase their participation in the energetic-mix market. The principal CSP technologies are not profitable due to the low performance of the commercial molten salts which have a narrow working temperatures range and their high corrosivity. All these circumstances lead to a high cost techology to generate electricity. REP-Energy Solutions provide new fluids that allow increasing the working temperature range, and that are less corrosive, thus halving the costs of generating electricity. read more

Our product can be biodegradable from 3 to 6 months, is nothing, compared with the more than 500 year that it takes a bottle to degrade. It is a lot more resistant than usual paper, and it can be used for packing for eating products. The main current objective of AppNps is the commercial exploitation of the patent application "biogas production", in the U.S. and Europe, consisting of the use of iron oxide nanoparticles(NP) as additives to optimise the production of biogas. BMG Intepco is looking to commercialise an innovative solution for industrial waste water treatment and emergency oil spill response - biomicrogels. Biomicrogels are nano-scale particles that have unique properties of covering oil with elastic and firm membrane as well as precipitating metals through ion exchange. These contaminant temporarily obtain gel structure and can easily be removed or skimmed from water. Biomicrogels are derived from pectin and cellulose and as such they are completely biodegradable. Besides, they are very efficient (have fast reaction time and can achieve very low concentrations of contaminants); economical (can clean oil in one go; no need for flocculants; both collected oil and reagent can be re-used), enhance H&S (encapsulated oil does not catch fire). The project received a Horizon 2020 grant from the European Commission, is a Finalist at MassChallenge UK 2016 Accelerator and was noted at Falling Walls 2014, CleanTech Open 2014 and SLUSH 2015. read more
There are several innovative technologies that can increase the efficiency of the vehicles and reduce transport emissions such as regenerative braking systems, start-stop systems, KERS, and ERS. However, all these systems require fast electric energy storage. Existing technologies for energy storage cannot meet the needs of the transport sector. The conventional technology uses batteries, but these are slow to charge and discharge energy, large and heavy. Ultracapacitors have been put forward as the solution, as they can charge and discharge quickly, however they are currently prohibitively expensive to allow them to be universally taken up across the wider transport sector.
